Field Application Engineer – Power (m/f/d)

Your tasks

As part of our passionate Applications Engineering team you will give excellent technical support to our automotive customers to support the adoption of our innovative semiconductor solutions in their systems with a clear focus on Silicon Carbide (SIC) power devices.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Drive Design-In activities of focus power semiconductor devices (SiC and Si) for identified business opportunities with a clear focus on ePowertrain applications.
  • Support sales and marketing teams in identifying new opportunities by maintaining excellent relationships with technical teams of our customers and being proactive in customer communication.
  • Be the voice of customers and work closely with technical and marketing teams in Europe and in our Japanese HQ to feed back our customers’ inputs.
  • Support the definition of innovative products which address application trends through competitive solutions that offer system level benefits.
  • Initiate the development of tools for sales promotion such as application kits or test boards and support the creation of valuable content for promotion activities.
  • Represent the company as an author of technical articles and at events such as conferences.
Your profile
  • University or university of applied science degree (min. B.Sc. / B.Eng.) in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related subject, preferably with a strong focus relevant to power electronics or power semiconductors (e.g. through job experience or applicable M.Sc. / M.Eng. programs or a PhD).
  • Good understanding of different types of power semiconductors (IGBT, MOSFET) and experience in selection of devices for different applications.
  • Adequate years of experience in the field of power in a role with a strong technical focus.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as PLECS, LTspice, SiMetrix, etc. 
  • Negotiation skills with customers facing technical challenges.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills in English. German language skills are a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel.
